Zinsser does it again

This sentence is super important and catchy so you should keep reading this entire post. Was that luring? Because according to chapter 9 of Zinsser, this first sentence of any post/writing is the most important one. Each sentence following that 1st sentence has to follow and be equally valuable as the one before it. This makes writing really difficult, because, for me, I insert dumb jokes into everything I write about.

Sres

This series of screenshots is when Chandler Bing (my spirit animal because humans are also animals) was trying to come up with catchy slogans for an advertising job interview. The Bookstore sucks and Zinsser knows how to Write

So, for today’s blog post response to the assigned readings, we were supposed to have read 4 chapters from a book written by Zinsser. I got really lucky and our professor scanned the first 3 chapters to Moodle, but I couldn’t read the 4th chapter titled “Enjoyment, Fear and Confidence.” I am super bummed out because that chapter actually sounds like it would have been the best one. I couldn’t read the chapter because our professor didn’t scan it because she didn’t want to get into legal issues (completely understandable) and wanted us to have purchased the book. Being the great student I am, I purchased the books at the very beginning of the semester from our campus bookstore. So I get back to my room at 9:00pm tonight fully prepared to read these 4 chapters from the book I purchased back in early August and I start hunting for the book in my stack of textbooks. I don’t see it. So I go to the bookstore’s website and it says “COURSE MATERIALS SELECTION PENDING.” Here is a screenshot of this B.S.

Screen Shot 2014-09-22 at 10.28.08 PMThis is nonsense. I checked this same page when I ordered my books and I had to buy $100+ of textbooks. Now it says that it is pending??? THIS MEANS I WASTED MY MONEY ON TEXTBOOKS I DON’T NEED AND CAN’T RETURN! Sooooooo, getting back to the moral of this story… don’t buy textbooks before you actually need them.
